Easy iPhone Fixes – Part One

The Moment You Think Your Life Is Over

So I have been selling the iPhone for about 3 years now. And believe me I have sold a fair few iPhones :)

I am a bit of a self proclaimed Apple geek so I thought I would share a few easy tips on how to fix basic issue you may come across with your iPhone.

The first thing you have to understand is that your iPhone does 90% of what your computer or laptop does but is about 1/20th of the size. So like your computer when it starts doing something odd generally turning if off to give it a bit of a rest fixes it! Well guess what – the iPhone is exactly the same :)

Giving the phone a “reboot” can fix sooooo many basic issues that come about from the phone not getting a rest.

These basic issues can be things like:

  • Not sliding to unlock or not sliding to answer a call
  • Apps crashing or shutting themselves down
  • Your camera roll being stuck up under than Albums title so you can’t open it
  • Apps not updating of loading
  • Facebook App freezing or not loading up
  • Phone freezing

To do this “reboot” you need to:

1. Hold the centre “home” button and the lock key on the top right hand side of the phone down together.

2. Continue to hold these two buttons down together PAST the “side to power off screen”.

3. The screen will go black – continue holding these two buttons down.

4. Once the Apple logo pops up on the screen you can then let go of the two buttons.

The iPhone is running soooo much software and running heaps of apps that it needs a break every now and then, just like any piece of technology! It is good to do this reboot every few weeks to keep the phone running smoothly :)

Please bare in mind that doing this will also work for the iPad and iTouch :)

Now that you have seen this this maybe it would be a good time to give your computer, laptop, cellphone (smartphone or not), iPad, TV, Playstation a quick turn off/reboot to give it’s brains a bit of a rest :)

iPad

I have had my iPad for a few weeks now and it really is an amazing piece of technology! Although I have definetly found that it is a piece of technology that you don’t really need until you actually own it and wonder how you ever used to live life without it!

Here are a few photos of it and a few awesomely cool apps I have found for it. The only downside I have found with the app store for the iPad is that a lot of the apps that you can get for the iPhone are not available for the iPad.

It really is a very good looking device!

The cover for the iPad 2 is a great accessory! It is so multi purpose! :)

The Garage Band app is one of my favorite! It is so easy to use and you can play all sorts for different types of instruments. You can even sing into it and it will record you :) I can often be a bit tight about spending money on apps but this one was totally worth the $6.49! haha.

Ok so this game really is a bit of a guilty pleasure! It is called Bloons TD4 HD! It is so simple but so fun! The aim of the game is to place super monkeys around the track to blow up the balloons before they reach the end of the track! … P.S. This is also an app you can get for your iPhone :)

This last app probably could be used for really useful things but I like to use it to do silly drawings! hehe :)

This is a drawing of Ben sitting on the toilet and using his iPad at the same time! Haha. Sometimes he gets so caught up in playing on his iPad he forgets he is actually still on the toilet!

Haha this is Ben and I going to the supermarket and me being pushed round in the trolley because 1) i HATE going to the supermarket. And 2) i am rather good at being a lazy bitch :) (I feel i did a good job of depicting Ben‘s hair colour) :)

First Jam Session With Sam

So Sam Horgan and I have decided to starting doing some music stuff together and tonight we had our first jam session. Sam and I used to be in a band together back in High School! :)

We have started putting together a list of songs that we could learn and one day perform (our goal is to start doing gigs around Wellington)

We even had a bit of a jam on the Garage Band app on the iPads!

Sam is a multi talented musician that can play the guitar, is a pro on the drums and can even bash out a few sounds on an iPad piano :)

This app on its own is totally worth getting an iPad for! it is so much fun even if you have no music knowledge

Check back here soon to see what songs we have picked!
