Drake ft Rihanna – Take Care (Cover)

After a long silence I have finally done another video! It felt so good singing again! Since coming home from holiday I had really struggled to find a song I wanted to cover. So I turned to My Facebook Page and asked my fans for ideas! Nick from Pimppalacecustoms sent me a link of Florence and the Machine covering “Take Care” By Drake Ft Rihanna which is from Drake’s new album “Take Care”. I had already heard the original version and I already loved it, but never thought I could cover it because of the large amount of rapping involved. But once I had heard the Florence version I figured if she can do it then so can I!!

So after a LOT of attempts I managed to make my way through the song and I get all the words in too! I really enjoyed doing this because it was HARD WORK! If you haven’t already listened to Drakes new album, you really should it is full of great songs! You can purchase it HERE

The Spice Girls were undeniably the best girl group of all time! During the 90′s I lived and breathed the Spice Girls. Every school disco me and my friends would always dress up as the Spice Girls, we were absolutely obsessed.

A friend of mine recently sent me to link of Ben L’oncle Soul covering the Spice Girls song Say You’ll Be There. As you can imagine I instantly found my love for the Spice Girls again and I haven’t been able to stop listening to them ever since.

I have always really liked this song the original version is so catchy and the music video for it is awesome. After wasting a fair amount of time surfing You Tube and hearing it sung acoustically it really changed my view on this song. The lyrics are strong and quite powerful.

After reading through the lyrics I decided I would cover the song and dedicate it to two of my best friends Shann and Char! :) You two girls are bad ass chicks and don’t ever let anyone make you feel anything less than totally amazing! I love ya both and you can stand under my umbrella anytime :)

Girls this is for you, enjoy :)

I Need A Dollar – Aloe Blacc Cover

So I heard this song “I Need A Dollar” By Aloe Blacc on the TV series How To Make It In America and instantly loved it! It is such a great catchy song so I thought I would cover it!

I have always loved this song and have always loved TLC. They were a great 90′s RnB girl group.

I think this song has a really strong message. We spend so much time trying to fit the stereo type that people want us to be that we forget who we REALLY are!

Rolling In The Deep Cover + iTunes Voucher Draw

I have always loved Adele’s music and have talked about her quite a lot on my Facebook Page. Her latest album “21″ is mind blowingly awesome! If you haven’t heard it already you must check it out!

A little while ago my boyfriend Ben Silcock found John Legend covering Rolling In The Deep. I fell in love with it straight away, John Legend has such an amazing RnB voice that added a really unique quality to the song.

So many of you had asked me to cover an Adele song and as soon as I heard this version I knew it was the one :)

Price Tag Cover – Jessie J

I have loved Jessie J’s music since the moment I heard her! He album “Who You Are” is amazing. Its got a collection of pop, dance and ballad style songs. The really cool thing about her music is that its not mindless. She sings about some pretty real stuff, not just love and heart break. She has real talent, and such a unique sound. She writes all her own music and has even written songs for Chris Brown and Miley Cyrus.

I have decided to cover her song “Price Tag” is such a fun song! Check it out :)

She does these amazing videos in New York, where she just sets herself up with a backing track of one of her songs and just sings live in the subways. She has got so much confidence it’s awesome!

My favorite song by Jessie J is “Who You Are” lyrically it is really inspirational.

My Hero By Foo Fighters – Cover (Paramore Version)

A few weeks ago I updated my facebook status asking for ideas on the next song I should cover. I got a huge response and quite a few people had asked me to cover a Foo Fighters song. So I started flicking through my iTunes library to find one I could sing. I ended up stumbling upon Paramore’s Version of My Hero and I thought it was a great option as it suited my voice begin an acoustic cover rather than heavy rock. Considering I often seem to cover covers I thought it was an awesome fit to add to my collection of covers which you can check out here and get updates whenever I post a new video, all you have to do is subscribe :)

Use Somebody – Kings of Leon (Pixie Lott Version)

I was surfing the tube and stumbled on this song by accident. I have always loved the original version by Kings of Leon, but Pixie Lott’s voice is amazing and gives the song a really unique sound.

This song actually took me quite a few takes! It was much harder than I thought it would be! Sometimes the songs you think are going to be easy to cover always turn out to be the hardest!

You Make It Real – James Morrison Cover

So I was surfing You Tube and came across “You Make It Real” By James Morrison which is a song I hadn’t heard in ages! After listen to the lyrics I realized it was a really touching song. With all the devastation that has happened in Christchurch with the earthquake I felt it was a really appropriate song to cover and to share some positive words. It gives time to reflect on how important the people we love are. You can replace things and buildings but not our loved ones.

Share this video with someone you love and let them know how special they are to  you – one day they might be gone.
